Arsenam 10mg Injection is used in the treatment of leukemia(cancer of white blood cells). It is used for patients with leukemia who have not responded to other therapies. It is used alone or in combination with other medicine as first line therapy.

Arsenam 10mg Injection is given as an injection into veins under the supervision of a doctor, with regular monitoring of blood pressure. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL)

Arsenam 10mg injection affects many signal pathways and causes changes in cellular function. These actions result in cell death, inhibition of growth, division, and multiplication of cancer cells.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of Arsenam 10mg injection based on the disease condition and other factors. It is normally given to you by a trained doctor or nurse. It is given as a drip (infusion) into the veins over 1 - 2 hours. You will be monitored for unwanted side effects during the infusion. 

Swelling in the face and body

Bone pain, muscle pain

Dizziness, headache, insomnia

Pain in throat

Loss of appetite

Kidney problems

Pneumonia

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Arsenam 10mg injection and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

Store this medicine at 2– 8ºC. Do not freeze.

Keep the medicine out of sight and reach from children and pets

If you forgot to take the injection on the scheduled day, inform your physician or healthcare professional immediately and reschedule the dose.

Report to your doctor immediately if you face any symptoms of fever, sudden weight gain, dizziness/lightheadedness, shortness of breath, and any symptoms of accumulation of fluids in the lungs, heart, and chest. Your doctor will take routine blood tests at regular visits to check on the effectiveness and side effects of the treatment. Arsenam 10mg injection is not recommended in children and young people below 18 years of age.
