Luciasc 40mg tablet contains the active substance Asciminib. It is an anticancer medicine that belongs to the class of tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitors. 

Luciasc 40mg tablet is used to treat a certain type of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML; a type of cancer of the white blood cells) in a chronic phase (CP) who have been previously treated with two or more tyrosine kinase inhibitors. It works by inhibiting the BCR-ABL1 tyrosine kinase, a fusion protein resulting from the Philadelphia chromosome translocation in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). It binds specifically to the myristoyl pocket of the ABL1 domain within the BCR-ABL1 protein, inducing a conformational change that locks the protein in an inactive state and inhibits its oncogenic activity.

Inform your doctor before starting treatment with Luciasc 40mg tablet, as it may cause blood problems such as low platelet and white blood cell counts, pancreatic issues, and high blood pressure. Make sure to inform your physician of all the medicines you are taking before you start the treatment with this medication. Report any symptoms of difficulty breathing together with a cough or fever, chest pain, fever, weakness, or seizures.

Take Luciasc 40mg tablet exactly as your doctor tells you. Do not change your dose or schedule or stop taking Luciasc 40mg tablet unless your healthcare provider tells you to. Take Luciasc 40mg tablet without food. 

You should avoid eating for at least 2 hours before and 1 hour after taking the Luciasc 40mg tablet. Swallow Luciasc 40mg tablets whole. Do not break, crush, or chew tablets.

Inform your healthcare professional about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. 

Certain medications interacting with Luciasc 40 mg may reduce effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

• Store Luciasc 40mg tablet at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C.
• Store in the original container.
• Keep it away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.
• Complete blood counts should be performed every two weeks for the first three months of treatment and monthly after that or as clinically indicated. Patients should be monitored for signs and symptoms of myelosuppression.
• Keep out of sight and reach of children and pets.

If you are taking any laboratory tests, tell your doctor that you are taking Luciasc 40 mg tablet. It may cause changes in test results or affect the interpretation of certain lab findings. 

It may also increase your blood pressure. You may be asked to monitor your blood pressure frequently while taking this medication. Please let your doctor know if you notice any changes in your blood pressure.
