Pomcad 2mg Capsule is a chemotherapy medicine containing the active constituent Pomalidomide. It belongs to a class of medications known as immunomodulatory agents and is primarily prescribed for the treatment of multiple myeloma in adults. Pomcad 2mg Capsule uses in multiple myeloma include slowing the growth of abnormal plasma cells and helping the bone marrow produce healthy blood cells.

Treatment of multiple myeloma.

Pomcad 2mg Capsule works by stimulating the immune system to attack the cancer cells, stopping the formation of blood vessels supplying the cancer cells, and preventing the growth of cancer cells (myeloma cells).

Always take the Pomcad 2mg Capsule exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take this medicine with or without food. Swallow the Capsule as a whole with water. Do not crush or chew the capsule.

Serious:

• Low white blood cells
• Bleeding or bruising
• Severe or bloody diarrhoea
• Blood clots (chest or leg pain, swelling)
• Severe liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes, dark-brown-coloured urine, abdominal pain)
• Severe allergic reactions (swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing)

Common:

• Shortness of breath
• Tiredness, weakness
• Nausea, vomiting
• Dizziness, tremor
• Low potassium level in the blood (hypokalaemia)
• Back pain, bone pain
• Diarrhoea, constipation
• Upper respiratory tract infection
• High blood sugar levels
• Loss of appetite, lack of energy
• Trouble sleeping
• Muscle spasms, muscle weakness
• Numbness, tingling, or burning sensation in the skin; pain in hands or feet
• Anaemia

Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional or vitamin supplements and herbal products that you are taking or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with the Pomcad 2mg Capsule and can cause potential side effects.

• Store at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C.
• Keep the Pomcad 2mg capsule out of the sight and reach of children.

• Use effective birth control for at least 4 weeks before starting, during, and 4 weeks after stopping Pomcad 2mg Capsule treatment.
• Do not use this medication if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy, as it may harm the unborn baby.
• Handle the capsule carefully using disposable gloves to avoid skin contact.
• Do not share Pomcad 2mg Capsule with others, even if they have similar symptoms, since it can cause birth defects and other serious health problems.
• Avoid donating blood or sperm during treatment and for at least 7 days after completing therapy with this medicine.
